Gites for holiday rental in Chaunay, South West France

L’Escapade and Le Petit Paradis are two detached gites set in Tagné, a rural hamlet that borders open countryside. The cottages each have their own private patio area and are positioned within the gardens of the main property and adjacent to a secure swimming pool.

L’Escapade sleeps 4, 1 double & 1 twin room.

Le Petit Paradis sleeps 2, 1 double room.

One of the attractions of the gites is the fact that they are not immediately adjacent to the owners house. This means that you can spend your holiday, if you wish to, totally oblivious to the presence of the owners (well apart from seeing us carrying out our pool cleaning duties and watering the plants etc). We will, of course, be around to deal with any problems and to help answer any questions.

The countryside that surrounds our little piece of heaven is rural and has a mixture of crops, but it is the sunflower fields that predominate. We are not totally isolated as we are in the hamlet of Tagné which has around 24 other houses. The nearest village is Chaunay (2Km) which has a small supermarket, Boulangerie, and Chemist along with a restaurant, bar and a pizza vending machine. Sauzé Vaussais and Civray are larger towns around 15 -20 minutes drive away and have a greater selection of shops, restaurants, banks and larger Supermarkets.

It is a well advertised fact that the Poitou – Charente is the second sunniest region of France. For those that want to tear themselves away from the pool and gardens then there are a whole host of local attractions within a 20- 40 minute drive.
